Configure Click2Create with Business and Property Data in Salesforce Maps

You can set up Click2Create to work with both Business and Property data, making record creation easy when using Salesforce Maps. For instance, field sales reps can simply tap a business location pin, and the app will automatically fill in a new Lead record with the business name, address, and phone number—no manual work required! Setting Up Click2Create with Business or Property Data

  1. As an admin, start by creating a Field Set on the object with which you want to use Click2Create. For example, if you want to create Leads via Business or Property data, create a field set on the Lead object.
  2. Navigate to Setup | Installed Packages | Configure for the Salesforce Maps Package. Select the Data Layers tab.
  3. Select a Data Layer and select a Salesforce object. As an example use the Business Data Layer and the Lead object.
  4. For the Field Set Mapping, you need to select the Field Set to use with the given record type. For example, you can select different Field Sets if your Lead record has multiple record types.
  5. Map Several fields from the Business data set to the Lead object. This is telling Salesforce Maps to grab these fields from the Business and save them to these other fields on the Lead object. You don't have to map every field. However, any required fields should be mapped (for example, the Last Name field is required for the Lead object). If you don't map these fields, Salesforce Maps will show an error when you use Click2Create.
  6. When finished, select Save. At this point, you should now be able to use Click2Create via Business Data.

Please note: Person Accounts are not supported as the Maps managed package can not query the record type.

Adding the Create Record Button to Layouts

The last step is to assign the Click2Create button to the My Position and POI tooltip layouts. Refer to Creating Button Sets or more information. 

  1. Click Settings in Salesforce Maps Configuration
  2. Click the Button Sets tab
  3. Select Button Set from the dropdown.
  4. Click and drag Click2Create into My Position, POI, and Mass Action Layout.
  5. Click Save.
  6. Click on the Permission Groups tab on the left Menu bar
  7. Click on the Permission user/profile is assigned to
  8. For the Actions Tab Button set edit and select the Button set updated with the Click2Create button 
  9. Click on Save
  10. The User now has the button set assigned to them.
