Salesforce Maps includes a Folder Permissions feature that controls access to layers organized in the Corporate Folder. This feature is not enabled by default. Until it is enabled in Maps Configure Settings, all users with the SF Maps permission set can access all Corporate Folder layers regardless of folder structure. Once enabled, Corporate Folder access is governed by the Folder Administrator permission in the user’s Permission Group.
When Folder Permissions is enabled, only users whose Permission Group has the Folder Administrator permission can access and manage Corporate Folder subfolders and their contents. Users without this permission cannot see layers in Corporate Folder subfolders.
This article answers how to enable Folder Permissions in Salesforce Maps so that users only see the Corporate Folder layers they are authorized to access.
Checking the Folder Permissions option ensures Salesforce Maps follows all folder permissions set by the admin.
Note: If this checkbox is unchecked, all users can see all folders available in the Corporate Folder, regardless of the folder permissions configured by the admin.
