Importing Tasks with Dataloader.io

Udgivelsesdato: Apr 21, 2026
Beskrivelse

Data Import Wizard cannot be used to import your Task records so Salesforce Starter edition orgs can utilize dataloader.io from Mulesoft to perform this import.

Løsning

The example below can be used for a test import with dataloader.io from MuleSoft.  If you do not have a User, Account or Contact with the values in the example, simply change the values to the names of a User, Account and Contact that are in your org. To use this example for a test import, copy and paste the values below into an Excel or Numbers worksheet then save it as a .csv file.

Now that we have a test .csv file, let's start by importing the Task!

  1. To import your Tasks using dataloader.io, begin by going to https://dataloader.io/
  2. Click Login with Salesforce
  3. Select production Environment and use your Starter credentials to login
  4. Click New Task on the top-left corner of the screen
  5. Select Import
  6. Ensure Insert is selected in the Operation section
  7. Search for Task in the Object section
  8. Select Task in the Object section
  9. Click the Next button
  10. Upload your .csv file
  11. Map your Due Date .csv column to the Due Date Only field
  12. Map your Subject .csv column to the Subject field
  13. Map your Assigned To .csv column to the Assigned To ID field
  14. Click the Lookup Via checkbox under Assigned To ID
  15. Select Full Name in the dropdown field
  16. Map your Contact .csv column to the Name ID field
  17. Click the Lookup Via checkbox under Name ID
  18. Select Contact and Full Name in the dropdown fields
  19. Map your Account .csv column to the Related To ID field
  20. Click the Lookup Via checkbox under Related To ID
  21. Select Account and Account Name in the dropdown fields
  22. Map your Status .csv column to the Status field
  23. Map your Priority .csv column to the Priority field
  24. Map your Task Subtype .csv column to the Task Subtype field
  25. Click the Next button
  26. If the edition of Salesforce that you are using is the Starter edition, ensure that the option for API Mode has 'Use Batch API with 200 records per request' selected
  27. Click the Save & Run button
  28. Click the Run button in the pop-up window

Once your import is completed, you can login to your Salesforce org to confirm:

  1. Your Task was successfully imported and appears as a call
  2. Your Task is related to the correct Account
  3. Your Task is related to the correct Contact

After confirming that the import worked as expected, you are ready to use your .csv file instead of the example .csv file from above!
