Data Import Wizard cannot be used to import files to attach to your records so Salesforce Essentials edition orgs must utilize dataloader.io from MuleSoft to perform this import.
This article assumes that the related records in the template below already exist in your organization and that you have added the Notes & Attachments Lightning Component in your related objects Lightning Record Page Layouts.
If you haven't already done so, build a .zip file that contains all of the files you want to upload and a .csv file.
Disclaimer: Dataloader.io from MuleSoft is a third-party data management tool that connects to Salesforce via API.
The example below shows you what your .csv file should look like with the fields which are required for this import.
| File Name | Body | Parent ID |
|---|---|---|
| BackCountryOutpostQuoteInitial.png | BackCountryOutpostQuoteInitial.png | 0064x000003Dke5AAC |
| TrailblazerUnlimitedQuoteInitial.png | TrailblazerUnlimitedQuoteInitial.png | 0014x000004mpcUAAQ |
File Name is the name of the file that you would like to be displayed within your Salesforce org.
Body is the path to the file within your .zip file.
Parent ID is the ID of the record you want the file associated with. This ID can be found by opening a record and obtaining the 18 digit ID from the URL like so: https://examplecompany.lightning.force.com/lightning/r/Account/0064x000003Dke5AAC/view. Alternatively you can create a report which displays the record name and record ID for a list of all the IDs.
Now that we have a .csv and .zip file, let's start by importing the Attachment!
Once your import is completed, you can log in to your Salesforce org to confirm your files are related to the correct records.
