Unarchive an Article and retain the Translation

Please Note: If the archived article was published before it was submitted for translation, the translation will get lost.

Steps for Classic:

1. Go to Article Management
2. Select the Archived Articles radio button
3. Select the article you want to restore; click on the name of the article to open it.
4. Make note of which language(s) it says it is translated to.
5. Now click Edit.
6. You will get a pop-up message saying "You can't edit an archived article. Would you like to create a new version of this article as a draft?" Click OK.
7. Click Submit for Translation...
8. Select the applicable language(s) that you noted in Step 4. Note: you do not need to assign a due date, change the assignee from yourself, or deselect the Send notification email box unless you are not publishing the translations.
9. Click OK.
10. Navigate to the Translations tab and select Draft Translations. Note: choose the Assigned to Me option if you assigned to yourself, otherwise choose the appropriate group or Anyone.
11. Select the checkbox next to the translation(s) you want to restore and click Publish. You'll get a message saying it won't be published until the article is published.
12. Navigate back to the Articles tab and select Draft Articles Assigned to Me.
13. Select the checkbox next to the article(s) you want to restore and click Publish.

Steps for Lightning:

1. Go to the Knowledge Tab
2. Choose the listview for Archived
3. Select the articles you want to restore by ticking the box beside it.
4. Click on the Restore button at the top right.
5. Confirm that you want to restore.
6. Change the listview to Draft
7. Select the Articles you need to restore which have a Translation by ticking the box next to them.
8. Click on Submit Article for Translation button and select the previous translated language.
9. Publish the master Article and the translations individually.
