Add an Existing Opportunity to an Active Campaign

Veröffentlichungsdatum: Apr 2, 2026
Beschreibung
When looking at a Campaign record, users are only able to add Opportunities that are created by clicking the New button in the Campaign Opportunity related list.

Users who would like to add existing Opportunities to Campaign records need to add a standard field to the Opportunity record page layout to make the association.
Lösung

Because Salesforce only allows creating new Opportunities from the Campaign Opportunities related list, you must associate existing Opportunities to a Campaign through the Primary Campaign Source field on the Opportunity record.

Editing the Opportunity Page Layout:

  1. Click Setup from gear icon on top right corner
  2. Search and click Opportunity from Quick Find
  3. Open an Opportunity record
  4. Click the gear icon on the top right corner of the Salesforce screen
  5. Select Edit Object
  6. Click Page Layout on the left side of the screen
  7. Click the hyperlink for the page layout you are using
  8. Drag the Primary Campaign Source field from the grey bar on the top of the screen onto the page layout
  9. Drop the field in a section that is highlighted green
  10. Click the Save button
  11. Go back to an Opportunity record and refresh the browser
  12. Click the Edit button on the top right corner of the record
  13. Locate the Primary Campaign Source lookup field
  14. Click in the Primary Campaign Source lookup field
  15. Locate the Campaign you want associated with this Opportunity
  16. Select the Campaign
  17. Click the Save button

Note: The opportunity-related list will not display if campaign influence is enabled
