Data sync Save button is greyed out in CRM Analytics

Publiceringsdatum: Jun 14, 2023
Beskrivning
The Save button may be grayed out when adding or removing fields from connected objects. This occurs when one or more connected fields are invalid. The most common cause is having a connected Dimension or Text field that exceeds 32000 characters or a Numeric field that exceeds the defined precision. Refer to the Analytics limits for more information.

Maximum number of characters in a field = 32,000.
  • A Long Text Area and Rich Text Area have a default length of 32768 characters.
  • External connectors with Varchar field type over 32000 characters.
Maximum number of decimal places for each value in a numeric field in a dataset (overflow limit)
Maximum/Minimum value for each numeric field in a dataset, including decimal places
  • Numeric fields with a precision greater than 18 or what is defined.

Determine invalid fields

  • Navigate to Analytics Studio and open the Data Manager.
  • Select Connect then select the affected object.
  • If you’re trying to add fields, select the fields then click Continue.
  • Scroll to the right and look for a triangle warning icon next to the field name.
  • Select the invalid field and click the pencil icon to view the field attributes.
  • If the Field Type is Text, the Precision must not exceed 32000.

Resolution options

If a connected field’s precision is exceeded, it must be corrected to restore the ability to Save the connected object.

Remove fields from Data sync

If the field is not being used in Analytics, remove it from Data sync. If it’s being used, deletion from Data sync is not allowed until it’s removed from whichever is referencing the field, usually in a Recipe or Dataflow.

See more in the documentation for Add and Remove Local Salesforce Objects and Fields from Data Sync.

Change the field precision

First Option: If the Precision field is enabled in the Data sync Preview Source window.

Click path: Data Manager > Connect > Object > Continue > Select the field > Click the pencil icon > enter 32000 in the Precision field then Save.

Second Option: In a Dataflow sfdcDigest node.
  • Data Manager > Dataflows & Recipes > Default Salesforce Dataflow
  • Add a sfdcDigest node, search for and select the object.
  • Select the field, click the edit icon, and set the precision to 32,000.
  • Update the dataflow. No need to run it.
  • Now go back to the data sync and try to Save.
  • Delete the sfdcDigestNode you added from the dataflow.
