Løsning
Follow the steps below to ensure access success for Quip with Salesforce.

1. Go to the Quip Admin Console and complete the two steps to provision new members.
Step 1 of 2: choose 1 of the 4 options to provision new members in the Quip Admin Console

Option 1 (Enter the members below in name and email pairs): Recommended for testing purposes only
Option 2 (Upload a CSV file): Recommended when provisioning more than 10 members
Option 3 and 4 (Provision everyone from a Salesforce org/Sandbox org): Not recommended unless there are 1:1 Salesforce/Quip licenses - selecting this option will not map members to the assigned Quip permission set

Provision New Members

Step 2 of 2: Deselect option to send welcome email (recommended)
Note: If option is deselected, we recommend sending a separate customized message at launch

2.  Assign the Quip permission set in Salesforce:
  • Click the gear icon at the top right; select Setup; search for permission set; find Quip & manage assignments.
  • Once permission set is assigned, member must click the blue banner in Salesforce that says “Take the Last Step.”
Note: Setting up the Quip permission set in Salesforce does not automatically provision members into Quip. Admins also cannot use “Login As” to impersonate members to “Take the Last Step.”

3. Set up SAML based SSO for the best security and most streamlined login experience. Common IdP’s
include Okta, OneLogin, Active Directory, Azure, and Salesforce.
System for Cross-domain Identity Management (SCIM) is an enterprise standard for automating the exchange of user identity information (joiners, movers, leavers). SSO must be configured to set up perform operations with Quip’s SCIM API.

Read how to integrate SCIM with Quip here.

Important to note:
  • Login with Salesforce is not the same as having Salesforce setup as the Quip IdP
  • If you are removed from the Quip permission set in Salesforce, you are not removed from Quip
  • If you are removed from the IdP, you are not removed from Quip
