Learn what to expect when provisioning Quip with Salesforce, as experiences vary based on SSO and site domain settings. 

Note: this article is the second of a 2 part provisioning guide. Make sure you have completed the first part, How to Provision Quip Part 1 before moving forward. 

Admin Setup Experience

Auto-Add/Open, with SSO
  • First, assign the Quip permission set in Salesforce
  • Next, send a customized email to site members
Auto-Add/Open/Discoverable, without SSO
*Admin must use the same email addresses associated with Salesforce
  • First, provision members in the Quip Admin Console
  • Next, assign the Quip permission set in Salesforce
  • Last, send customized email to end users
Discoverable, with SSO
*Admin must use the same email addresses associated with Salesforce
  • First, provision members in the Quip Admin Console
  • Next, assign the Quip permission set in Salesforce
  • Last, send customized email to end users

Provisioned Member (non-admin) Setup Experience

Auto-Add/Open, with SSO
  • First, log into Salesforce
  • Next, click the blue banner that says “Take the last step”

Discoverable, with SSO
  • First, log into Salesforce
  • Next, click the blue banner that says “Take the last step”
*If the member is not provisioned, after clicking the blue banner a request to join the Quip site will be sent to the site admin

or
  • First, join the Quip site by logging into Quip.com
  • Next, log into Salesforce
  • Last, click the blue banner that says “Take the last step”
*If the member is not provisioned, logging into Quip will generate a request to join the site that the site admin approves.

Auto-Add/Open, without SSO
  • First, log into Salesforce
  • Next, click the blue banner that says “Take the last step”
  • Last, join the Quip site by logging into Quip.com and create a password
or
  • First, join the Quip site by logging into Quip.com and create a password
  • Next, log into Salesforce
