What is changing? How will my org be impacted by this change?

As an admin of a Salesforce org using the Salesforce mobile app, we want to notify you that users will no longer be able to log in to any Salesforce mobile app version below 230.000 on iOS and Android after the Summer ‘23 release. Your users should update the Salesforce mobile app to version 230.000 or higher on iOS and Android. This version of the Salesforce app requires a minimum OS version of Android 7.0 or iOS 13.4.

This change does not apply to custom-branded versions of the Salesforce app created through Mobile Publisher.

What action do I need to take?

You should encourage your users to update to a recent version of the Salesforce mobile app (230.000 or higher) as soon as possible. The newest versions contain the latest features and bug fixes. No additional purchase is required.

Most users will already be on the latest app version if they have automatic updates turned on from the App Store or Google Play and will not be affected by this change. If desired, you can use mobile device management (MDM) or mobile app management (MAM) to block users from accessing old versions of the app. You can set a minimum app version of 230.000 to force end-users to upgrade.

What happens if I don’t take action?

If your users continue to use an app version below 230.000, they will get an error message when they try to log in. Users will need to update their version in order to use the app.

How can you identify users that are impacted?

Customers with MDM can go through their provider to track app versions and set minimum versions of the app.

Otherwise, if users report trouble logging in, ask them to download the latest version of the Salesforce mobile app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). Salesforce does not provide a way for customers to see which of their users are on which app versions. Users can see which app version they’re on if they tap their profile photo, Settings, and check the version number at the bottom.
