This article explains the specific triggers that update the Last Application Open attribute in MobilePush Demographics within Contact Builder or filtered lists.

The Last Application Open attribute in MobilePush Demographics updates at the following two points.
Please note that this attribute is NOT updated when a user opens the app normally (e.g., by tapping the app icon on the home screen). Consequently, the Last Application Open value may display an older date even for active users of the app. 
 

Triggers for Updating "Last Application Open" 

1. When a user taps a push notification to open the app (App_Open Analytic Event)

When a user taps a push notification on their device and the app launches as a result, the SDK processes the open event and updates the value of the Last Application Open attribute.

2. Device registration

When a user's attribute values or token information are updated — for example, via setProfileAttributes (the method name may vary by SDK version) — the SDK performs device registration and updates the value of the Last Application Open attribute.

・Both updates described above are processed asynchronously, so it may take some time before the changes are reflected in Contact Builder. Please note that the attribute is not updated in real time.

・Please note that this attribute is NOT updated by user actions such as tapping on Inbox messages or In-App Messages.
