Extract Unit Assignment Information from Maps Territory Planning

Extract and Upload Considerations

There are multiple ways of getting assignment information out of the application:

Export to CSV: You can export a selection to CSV and leverage that file for updating. Here are some additional considerations:

• Make a selection either via the Map or Legend, and select the Export to CSV option in the mass actions dropdown that appears in the bottom right of the screen.
• The export will contain any selected units, containers or areas with the columns currently configured in the legend.

• Point zips are included in the export. See United States Postal Codes and Territory Planning for more information.

Salesforce Reports: You can also export from a Salesforce Report. Here are some additional considerations:

• You will need to create a custom report type for the Territory Planning Unit Assignment object. See Create a Custom Report Type for more information.
• Potential fields and filters:
  • maps__AlignmentId__c: Identifies which alignment the unit is assigned to.
  • maps__DataSourceId__c: Identifies the data source of the unit (Report Id, Query Id, or Container).
  • maps__UnitId__c: The 15-character Id for units or the Id for containers.
  • maps__Area__c: Identifies the assigned area in Territory Planning.
  • maps__ContainerId__c: Identifies the assigned container in Territory Planning.
  • maps__Metadata__c: Contains the attribute data visible in Territory Planning
• Point zips are not included when exporting from a Salesforce Report.
