Salesforce CPQ Winter ‘21

NEW PACKAGE SETTINGS
  • Product Recommendations Plugin setting is located in CPQ package settings.
NEW PACKGE SETTING VALUES
  • Proration Day of Month (Calendar Monthly + Daily) value to the Subscription Prorate Precision setting in Subscriptions and Renewals package settings.

Proration Day of MonthSBQQ__ProrationDayOfMonth__cQuoteIf this field has a value while CPQ's Subscription Prorate Precision setting has a value of "Proration Day of Month (Calendar Month + Daily)", Salesforce CPQ will align proration periods with the billing day of month used in Salesforce Billing.

NOTE: Users who do not have read access to the new field Proration Day of Month may encounter the following error message when generating an order:
Error:blng.OrderTrigger: execution of BeforeInsert caused by: System.QueryException: unexpected token: 'FROM' (System Code).
 
 

CHANGED PERMISSIONS
When the CPQ package setting Enable Usage Based Pricing is active, activating an order product now requires Read permissions on consumption schedules, consumption rates, order product consumption schedules, and order product consumption rates. Previously, users were required to have these permissions only when activating an order product related to a product with a consumption schedule. This CPQ package setting can be found via this path: Setup > Installed Packages > Configure - Salesforce CPQ > Pricing and Calculation tab > Enable Usage Based Pricing.
 

Salesforce Billing Winter ‘21

  • Enable Billing Order Validations setting is located in General package settings.

NOTE: Finance transactions and finance balance snapshots are built in Salesforce rather than Salesforce Billing. However, they are available only as part of the Salesforce Billing package.


CUSTOMER ASSET LIFECYCLE MANAGEMENT 

Lifecycle Management is available in Lightning Experience in Professional, Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer Editions with Salesforce Billing. Your admin must also enable the Customer Asset Lifecycle Management org permission.
