Understand how to use multi-factor authentication (MFA) when accessing your Quip Site.
Lösning

For most customers, multi-factor authentication (MFA) is integrated into the Quip login experience and can’t be disabled. All users who access Quip sites directly (that is, not via SAML, OKTA, or another single sign-on service) must supply both their password and a registered verification method each time they log in. Quip supports these verification methods:  Salesforce Authenticator, third-party TOTP authenticator apps, and security keys. See Verification Methods for Multi-Factor Authentication in Salesforce Help for more details.

For a demo of how users log in with MFA, watch the How Multi-Factor Authentication Works to Protect Account Access video.

Reset a User's MFA Verification Method

If a user forgets or loses their verification method, they won’t be able to log in to your Quip site. Site admins can restore a user’s access by resetting their method:

  1. From the admin console go to Site Members > Enabled Members and select the user.
  2. Click Reset Verification.

The next time the user logs in, they’re prompted to register a new verification method.

Note: If you are the Quip Administrator and lost MFA, reach out to our support and log a case. Learn how to do that here.
