Create a Live API Key for Maps Live Tracking

Description

The Maps Live API key is unique to our product and allows communication between your devices and our back-end servers. These steps should be followed by your Maps Admin and the Live API Key should only be generated once. 

Résolution

Create a new Maps Live API Key

1. From Setup, enter 'Installed Packages' in the Quick Find box, then select 'Installed Packages'.
2. Select ‘Configure’ next to ‘Salesforce Maps’.
3. Under the ‘Maps Live Tracking’ section, select 'Settings'.
4. In the ‘Licensing’ section, click the pencil icon under "Live API Key"
5. Click the "Generate" link. After a few moments, a unique key will be generated and saved.


Edit an existing Maps Live API Key

Note: We do not recommend editing an existing Maps Live API key unless advised to do so by Maps support. 

1. From Setup, enter 'Installed Packages' in the Quick Find box, then select 'Installed Packages'.
2. Select ‘Configure’ next to ‘Salesforce Maps’.
3. Under the ‘Maps Live Tracking’ section, select 'Settings'.
4. In the ‘Licensing’ section, click the pencil icon under "Live API Key".
5. Read the warning, type "EDIT" in the dialog box, and click Edit.
6. Click the "Generate" link.
