Upgrading Legacy Partner Marketing Cloud Demo/Dev Accounts

Publish Date: Oct 7, 2025
Description

Audience: All Partner Types

Salesforce will be retiring various legacy editions of the ExactTarget Marketing Cloud. Salesforce wants to ensure Partner demonstration and development success by providing our most current Marketing Cloud demo/dev functionality and packaging.

Timeline:

  • Before 2022: All Partners that received a Partner Marketing Cloud demo/dev account before 2022 would have received a legacy Edition now set for retirement and need to request their upgrade.
  • After June 2022: End-of-renewal begins in June 2022, meaning all legacy edition contracts with an end date (renewal date) after June will need to request an upgrade before their contract end date or it will expire. Please note: MID data for expired contracts is purged the following month.
  • December 2022: All "SSI Partners Editions" (accounts provided before July 2020) will be retired. All accounts in this edition that have not been upgraded will expire (accounts requested between July 2020 and January 2022 still need to be upgraded, but are not set for end of life in Dec 2022).
