In Review Marketing Cloud bounce data using Automation Studio, an automation was created to use a SQL query activity that maintains a 6-month history of detailed bounce responses. 

To quickly set this up in your own instance, use Package Manager to deploy BounceHistory.zip.

Note: The BounceHistory package is offered as-is. 
 

Deploy BounceHistory 


1. Download and save the BounceHistory.zip package. Visit the link and click the Download button from the repository.

2. Navigate to Platform > Package Manager, then to the Deployment tab.

3. Click Deploy and drag the BounceHistory.zip file from your computer onto the Upload box. 

4. Click Next, then Deploy to add the package's contents to your account with default names.

The following are created, each in the respective object's root folder:
 

Automation: BounceHistory
Query Activity: BounceHistory
Data Extension: BounceHistory


Start BounceHistory


To initialize the automation, navigate to Journey Builder > Automation Studio and open the BounceHistory automation that was just created. Open the Workflow tab, and under the Starting Source > Schedule column, click Active. The automation is preset to run once a day. 

The automation will gradually build a data extension containing up to 180-days of bounce data, as limited by its retention policy. To review the data effectively, refer to the original article to learn how to use Data Filters to filter along specific Job IDs, domains, and other criteria.
