Prerequisites:
Installing the Maps App
The Maps App is available for iOS devices through Apple's App Store and Android devices through the Google Play Store.
Enabling Live Location
Note: Selecting ‘Always Allow’ doesn’t mean that the user’s phone will always be tracked by Live, it means the phone has the ability to track location when the settings allow and the Live is enabled. The setting for Automatic Shut Off Time still applies. Live tracking can still be manually turned off in the settings. Users can view the Tracking Log on their phone to see when location data was being tracked by following this path.(Settings -> Live Location -> Advanced Settings -> View Location Log)
3. To enable live location tracking, select the Settings icon at the top left of the screen, then toggle on Live Location.
4. If you would like your live location to turn off automatically each day, select the arrow next to Live Location. Then, toggle on Automatic Shut Off, set the desired
time, and select Ok.
5. If you would like your live location to turn on automatically when you launch the Salesforce Maps app, toggle on Enable on App Launch.
Note: if the Maps App was not open when the Automatic Shut Off Time occurs when it’s turned on afterward during that day the phone will capture a location position and set the tracking back to off. This event will show in the tracking log as ‘automatic_tracking_toggled_to_false’ with the position update.
