Option to Share Files via Public Link Not Available

Users may not see the option to share files via public link in Lightning Experience.

This typically occurs when required features or permissions related to Content Deliveries and Salesforce CRM Content are not enabled.

Løsning

 

The ability to share files via public links depends on feature enablement and user permissions. Ensure the following configurations are in place:


Step 1: Enable Content Deliveries and Public Links

  1. Go to Setup
  2. Search for Content Deliveries and Public Links
  3. Enable:
    • Public Links can be enabled for users (Requires Content Deliveries)

Note:

  • If this option is not visible, contact Salesforce Support to enable it

Step 2: Enable Salesforce CRM Content

  1. Go to Setup
  2. Search for Salesforce CRM Content
  3. Enable Salesforce CRM Content

Step 3: Assign CRM Content User Permission

  1. Go to the user’s User Record
  2. Ensure Salesforce CRM Content User is enabled

Step 4: Enable Library Permissions (Classic Only)

  1. Switch to Salesforce Classic
  2. Go to Setup
  3. Search for Content Permissions
  4. Select the appropriate Library Permission (e.g., Author, Viewer)
  5. Click Edit
  6. Enable Deliver Content
  7. Click Save

Result

Once all settings are configured:

  • The Share via Public Link option becomes available for files and folders
