Salesforce Data Entry Event Does Not Inject When Entry Criteria Use WASSET and Action Is Updated

Udgivelsesdato: Apr 23, 2024
Beskrivelse
If you have a Journey with a Salesforce Data Entry with Entry Criteria fields are set to WASSET and the Action is Updated, the record will not inject if the Entry Criteria fields were already populated prior to being updated.

The reason that these do not inject is because with the Update Action, Journey Builder is triggered when a change is made to a field within the Entry Criteria. When the Entry Criteria fields are set to WASSET, Journey Builder looks for those fields to have a value to inject. The same configuration would work for the “Created” Action, but if these fields are already populated and then are updated to another value, Journey Builder will not be triggered as the fields had a value prior to update and after update.

Example: A Journey with Salesforce Data Entry has Entry Criteria that are “Field 1 WASSET” and “Field 2 WASSET” and the Action is Updated. The record in Salesforce has a value for Field 1 and a value for Field 2. You update Field 2 to a new value. No injection occurs into the Journey because there isn’t a change as the Fields had a value before and after the update.

Løsning
For a Journey with Salesforce Data Entry to inject with the Entry Criteria Fields set to WASSET with the Action “Updated”, one of the fields must be NULL prior to being updated. This would cause a change that would trigger the injection into Journey Builder, as the criteria of the specific field would change from ”not met“ to ”met“.

OR

You can also set one of these fields to equal a specific value, so when the field is updated to that value, it triggers the injection into Journey Builder
