'Cannot read property 'split' of null' Javascript error using Customer Service Center in B2C Commerce

Customer Service Center functionalities are not usable because of a JS error on dw.ui.core-main.js. This is due to mismatch of the locale selected under Merchant Tools > Site Preferences > Locales and the user's current locales which can be navigated by clicking profile icon in the top right hand corner of Business Manager and checking the preferences.
