B2C Commerce Business Manager Warning in Attribute Refinement Buckets: The product attribute is not part of the Product Search Index

When editing a category under Products & Catalogs > Catalogs, under the Search Refinement Definitions, you might encounter the following warning message under Attribute Refinement Buckets: The product attribute 'attributename' is not part of the Product Search Index. Please build this index before managing bucket values.

Environment : Instance Type: Any

This issue might occur as Refinements are only indexed for the language(s) set in Site Preferences > Locales. This warning message will appear when looking at attribute refinement buckets under other languages.
