Order Number Sequence Gaps in B2C Commerce

If you notice missing or non-sequential Order numbers in Business Manager for B2C Commerce, this can usually be explained by the following:

  • We reserve order numbers in blocks of 100, and unused numbers can age out and be replaced when the next order fetches another 100 numbers from the sequence.
  • Order numbers are assigned every cart transaction, if a payment is not processed, that order number is not re-used, leading to gaps in the order number sequence.
Lösung

Reconcile the order total in B2C Commerce against your backend order management system's order total to verify that no orders have been lost.
