Please follow the below checklist for a successful load test:

  1. Notify Commerce Support when planning to run a load test as outlined here: Load test notification for Salesforce B2C Commerce.
  2. Review our load testing best practices - Commerce Cloud B2C Load Testing Best Practices
  3. Simulate the same load as expected in your sale event - Documentation
  4. Use the same code base, equivalent platform resources, and data.
  5. Identify any bottlenecks and make improvements either through resource and/or configuration changes OR optimizing customizations.
  6. Include third-party service calls wherever possible.
  7. Keep platform and custom jobs running during load test.
  8. Load testing should be a simulation of expected traffic based on peak periods throughout the previous year with reasonable growth factors applied.
  9. It is recommended to disable email sending in your custom code to avoid an email flood during load tests.
  10. During the peak Holiday season, please look at the Commerce Cloud Holiday Season Moratorium and Load Testing Policy to see if there is a moratorium in effect. If there is, load testing may not be allowed.
  11. Loaner load test realms are available for short-term and long-term rental.
  12. Use the standard profiler tools to debug issues during load test.
    1. Any orders placed during a load test are incurring GMV if the site is live.
