Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q: What is the difference between the different org options in Environment Hub?

A: When creating an org using Environment Hub, you need to select a purpose for the org: Development, Test/Demo, and Trialforce Source Organization.

Development: Use this option to create an org for building, packaging, and uploading an app or component. This option allows you to create a Partner Developer Edition (PDE) org which has more user licenses, additional storage, and other partner-oriented features than a standard Developer Edition org. PDE orgs should never be shared with customers or prospects.

Test/Demo: Use this option to create an org to test for compatibility in other Salesforce editions or for demoing an app or component to prospects. These orgs should not be shared with customers or prospects outside of demos.

Trialforce Source Org: Use this option to create a Trialforce Source Org (TSO) for generating trial templates. TSOs created from the Environment Hub don’t support customer branding

Q: How can I tell when an org will expire?
A: Here are a few ways to find the expiration date:

  1. Setup > Company Settings > Company Information > Review the “Expiration Date” column in the different “Licenses” tables.
  2. From Setup Menu > Developer Console > Query Editor > Enter Select TrialExpirationDate from Organization > Execute.
  3. Install the free Org Expiry Notifier app published by Salesforce Labs.
