Enable Recommended Report Types in Salesforce Reports for Sales and Service

The Recommended Report Types feature helps Agentforce Sales (formerly Sales Cloud) and Agentforce Service (formerly Service Cloud) users quickly find the right report type when creating new reports. With this feature enabled, users can:

  • Access a "Recently Used" list of report types at the top of the report type selection window
  • View the fields and objects included in each report type before selecting it
  • Identify whether report types are standard or custom
  • Hide report types they don't need to keep the list manageable

This feature is generally available as of the Summer '22 release for all supported editions. If your Sales or Service users do not see the "Recently Used" list when creating new reports, an activation request with Salesforce Support may be needed to ensure the feature is enabled for your org.

Available Editions:

Group, Essentials, Professional, Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer

How to Activate:

Submit an activation request with Salesforce Support if the feature is not appearing for your users

Prerequisites:

Confirm that your org is on Summer '22 or later and that users are attempting to create a new report in Sales or Service before submitting an activation request. The "Recently Used" list should appear at the top of the report type selection window when the feature is active.

Requesting Activation:

As of the Summer '22 release, Recommended Report Types is generally available and should be automatically enabled for Sales and Service orgs on supported editions. Admins no longer need to manually turn on a setting in Setup to use this feature.

If your Sales or Service users do not see the "Recently Used" list when creating new reports, please have a System Administrator create an activation request with Support to ensure this feature is activated for your org.

Post Activation Steps:

No post-activation steps are required on the administrator's side. Once the feature is activated, users will immediately see the "Recently Used" report type list when creating new reports in Sales and Service — no additional configuration is needed.
