When creating a new Opportunity it is requiring a Close Date before saving.
The Close Date field on an Opportunity is when you expect the Opportunity to be closed, either Closed Won/Closed Lost. This is a required field and you cannot remove the requirement. If you do not know when an Opportunity may close, you can put a date in the future in order to save it and can always edit the date as needed
