API Access for Salesforce Essentials

Salesforce Essentials Edition does not include API access by default. This article explains the options available for Essentials customers who need API access, including upgrading to Professional Edition or higher. It also covers how to request API access as an add-on if you are already on Professional Edition.

If you need API access but are on Salesforce Essentials Edition, you will need to upgrade your edition. The steps below cover how to proceed depending on whether you are on a paid subscription or a trial.

Paid Essentials Edition Subscribers

The Salesforce Essentials Edition does not support API access and would require Professional Edition or higher in order to use API.  

If you are already under a paid subscription of Essentials Edition, you can reach out to myaccount@salesforce.com if you would like to find out about upgrading your Salesforce ORG.

Essentials Edition Trial Users 

If you are still in a trial of Essentials Edition and would like to upgrade the trial to Professional Edition or higher, please create a case with Support to start this process.

Note: API Access for Professional Edition is an add-on and you must reach out to your Account Executive for this request.
