When a dashboard needs to surface records where a Date field has not been filled in — for example, Contacts without a Birthdate or Cases without a Close Date — a special filter configuration is required, as blank date values cannot be selected through the standard date picker.
Let's create the filter in the dashboard -
1. Click Edit button.
2. Click + Filter button.
3. Input in the Field: Birthdate.
Display name: Birthdate
Filter values click New Filter Values
4. Operator: select "Equals".
Date type: select "Relative"
Value: enter "" (If no input, apply button is disable)
Display Text. input Blank Birthdate
Click Apply button.
5. Click Add button.
6. Click Save button, and Done button. (Client can view Contacts record with a blank birthdate in the dashboard.)
Note: If you want to edit Display Text, please start again from step 4.
