Knowledge limits for different org editions are outlined in the Knowledge Scalability documentation.
Note: The maximum limits are based on your organization's Sharing or Access Model for Lightning Knowledge.
The key behind any Knowledge limit increase request is understanding how each individual limit must be considered with respect to each other based on the following calculation:
| Edition | Total # of versions | # of articles | # of retained versions per article | # of translations per version |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Essentials | 10,000,000 | 500 | 10 | 1 |
| Professional | 10,000,000 | 500 | 10 | 1 |
| Enterprise | 10,000,000 | 50,000 | 10 | 5 |
| Developer | 10,000,000 | 50,000 | 10 | 5 |
| Unlimited | 10,000,000 | 150,000 | 10 | 10 |
If your organization requires an increase beyond the default limits, contact Salesforce Support. Before submitting your request, review the maximum limits table below and verify your proposed limits do not exceed the 10,000,000 total version cap for your edition.
| Edition | Total # of versions | # of articles | # of retained versions per article | # of translations per version |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Essentials | 10,000,000 | 45,000 | 10 | 4 |
| Professional | 10,000,000 | 45,000 | 10 | 4 |
| Enterprise | 10,000,000 | 125,000 | 50* | 10 |
| Developer | 10,000,000 | 125,000 | 50* | 10 |
| Unlimited | 20,000,000 | 500,000* | 50* | 100* |
| Edition | Total # of versions | # of articles | # of retained versions per article | # of translations per version |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Essentials | 10,000,000 | 45,000 | 10 | 4 |
| Professional | 10,000,000 | 45,000 | 10 | 4 |
| Enterprise | 10,000,000 | 125,000 | 50* | 10 |
| Developer | 10,000,000 | 125,000 | 50* | 10 |
| Unlimited | 50,000,000 | 1,000,000* | 50* | 100* |
* Although these figures are the absolute maximum for these individual knowledge limits, increases to each will only be considered if the overall calculation maintains under the maximum Total # of versions per edition.
So for example, an Enterprise Edition customer requesting the maximum increase for each limit above would not be approved based on the following calculation:
