How to Resolve "DML Currently Not Allowed" Error in OmniStudio OmniScript Designer

Date de publication: Jun 24, 2026
Description

The "DML currently not allowed" error is a platform-level indicator that the OmniScript Designer cannot locate a critical document required for rendering the user interface or executing backend processes. This usually occurs if the VlocityLogoDocumentUploads document file has been accidentally deleted, renamed, or corrupted within the Salesforce Documents library. Without this asset, the system cannot perform the necessary Data Manipulation Language (DML) operations required to initialize the designer environment.

Prerequisite: You must access the Salesforce Documents tab. If the tab is not visible in Lightning Experience, you may need to switch to Salesforce Classic or manually navigate to the URL path by appending /015/o to your domain (e.g., https://your-domain.my.salesforce.com/015/o).

  1. Navigate to Documents: Open the Documents tab in your Salesforce environment.
  2. Select Folder: In the Document Folders section, use the dropdown menu to select Vlocity Document Uploads.
  3. Create New Document: Click the New Document button.
  4. Configure Document Metadata:
    • Name: VlocityLogoDocumentUploads
    • Unique Name: VlocityLogoDocumentUploads
    • Note: These fields must match exactly to ensure the system recognizes the file.
  5. Upload File: Attach the file provided in this article and click Save.
Once the document is recreated and properly stored in the Vlocity Document Uploads folder, the OmniScript Designer will be able to locate the dependency, and the "DML currently not allowed" error will be resolved.
