Description

This document explains the reasons why subscribers may be counted as "Not Sent" in a Journey Builder Email Send Activity, and how to identify those subscribers and the cause.

Resolution
In the Email Analytics screen for a Journey Builder Email Send Activity, subscribers who did not receive the email are counted as "Not Sent."
Subscribers are counted as "Not Sent" when the email send itself was not executed due to reasons such as the subscriber's status being Held, Unsubscribed, or flagged by List Detective.
 
Note:
Even when a subscriber is counted as "Not Sent," the activity itself is evaluated as "Success," and processing continues to the subsequent activities in the journey.
To identify which subscribers did not receive the email and the reason why, use the Data Extract Activity in Automation Studio with the Extract Type set to Tracking Extract, and select the Extract Not Sent option.
