Messages with link shorteners are getting blocked/filtered

Описание

Most carriers are known to filter some Salesforce Digital Engagement Messaging using the 10-digit United States long, short, and toll-free codes.

What’s changing?
Starting with a policy update the week of September 28, AT&T announced that effective immediately, it is more strictly enforcing text messaging guidelines and practices for all messages sent to AT&T subscribers.

AT&T is increasing its messaging blocks to include political messaging and associated telephone numbers sending messages to AT&T subscribers. These guidelines apply to all messaging channels, including the 10-digit United States long, short, and toll-free codes.

Other carriers have followed this guideline and are now more strict on messages with embedded links.

What is the impact?
The following messages are likely to be blocked:
Any subscription messages that don’t use opt-out notices (example: reply STOP to unsubscribe)
NOTE: This is only for messages falling into a subscription category such as campaigns, alerts, and notifications.
Any messages that include the following public URL shorteners
bc.vc
bit.ly
budurl.com
Clicky.me
goo.gl
is.gd
lc.chat
s2r.co
soo.gd
Tiny.cc
tinyurl.com
NOTE: This change also applies to public URL shorteners that use spam filter evasion techniques, such as rapidly changing URLs or unnecessarily large pools of sending numbers.

What action do I take?
Review all your outbound messages and message templates to make sure that they don’t fall into any of the areas described. If you use any of the public URL shorteners in your messaging, you must change them to branded, shortened URLs.
