Error When Creating Smart Notifications in Tableau CRM Widgets: EntityObject Cannot Be Initialized with Null EntityInfo

This error occurs because the Salesforce org does not have the Report Notifications permission enabled. Tableau CRM Smart Notifications rely on the Report Notifications feature. When it is disabled, the widget cannot initialize the required entity object, resulting in this error.

Enable Report Notifications in Setup

To resolve this error, enable the Report Notifications permission in your org:

1. Go to Setup.
2. In the Quick Find box, search for Notifications.
3. Click Salesforce Notifications to open Notification Settings.
4. Enable Report Notifications.
5. Click Save.

After enabling this setting, return to the Tableau CRM widget and attempt to set the smart notification again.
