What is happening?

Salesforce is built from the ground up to protect your data and applications. As part of our ongoing commitment to customer trust and security, integrations into Marketing Cloud are recommended to utilize tenant-specific endpoints for improved stability and scalability

 

What is a tenant-specific endpoint?

Marketing Cloud automatically assigns a unique, system-generated subdomain to each of its tenants. A tenant represents your top-level Enterprise account and its business units, your Core account, your top-level Agency account, or your Client account, depending on your tenant type. Your subdomain is represented by a 28-character string starting with the letters "mc". When your subdomain is appended to Marketing Cloud endpoints, it creates URLs that are unique to your tenant.
 

Who is impacted?

Customers utilizing SFTP to import data and executing legacy SFTP URLs may be impacted.
 

How do I determine if my SFTP integrations need to be updated?

Your SFTP integrations will need to be updated if either of the following is true for your account.
  1. One of the following URLs are being utilized:
    • sftp://ftp1.exacttarget.com
    • sftp://ftp.s4.exacttarget.com
    • sftp://ftp.s6.exacttarget.com
    • sftp://ftp.s7.exacttarget.com
    • sftp://ftp.s10.exacttarget.com
    • sftp://ftp.s11.exacttarget.com
    • sftp://ftp.s50.exacttarget.com
  2. Your SFTP integration uses a hardcoded specific IP Address.
    • sftp://ftp1.exacttarget.com - 66.231.91.46
    • sftp://ftp.s4.exacttarget.com - 66.231.94.106
    • sftp://ftp.s6.exacttarget.com - 68.232.203.76
    • sftp://ftp.s7.exacttarget.com - 136.147.129.16
    • sftp://ftp.s10.exacttarget.com - 13.111.18.16
    • sftp://ftp.s11.exacttarget.com - 13.111.67.14
    • sftp://ftp.s50.exacttarget.com - 161.71.33.203
  3. Your SFTP integration uses a hardcoded specific IP Address.

How do I update my UI/Login SFTP server integrations to TSEs?

NOTE: The SFTP server TSE can be found in SFTP Accounts under Administration.

Steps:
  1. Navigate to Setup > Administration > Data Management > FTP Accounts to copy your tenant’s SFTP Tenant Specific Endpoint.
  2. Update your SFTP Client Integrations to leverage this new endpoint.
    1. External customer integrations that upload files to SFTP
    2. Marketing Cloud file locations
  3. If you utilize client-side allowlists, please utilize the appropriate SFTP IP address for your stack:
    1. Stack 1 - 68.232.201.173
    2. Stack 4 - 198.245.89.212
    3. Stack 5 - 198.245.89.227
    4. Stack 6 - 13.111.7.80
    5. Stack 7 - 13.111.95.23
    6. Stack 10 - 13.111.18.54
    7. Stack 11 - 13.111.67.50
    8. Stack 50 - 161.71.33.231
  4. Repeat steps 1-3 for each SFTP server integration across all Business Units within the Tenant.
  5. Consider implementing a process to manage password expiration or switch to SSH Keys for authentication
  6. Consider adding an E-mail Address for SFTP Accounts to receive relevant notifications.
