How to Create a Report on Opportunities by Stage

In Classic:
 

1. Go to the Reports tab and click on New Report.
2. In the Search Report Types, enter Opportunities and select Opportunities from the list of matches.
3. Click on Create.
4. Set up your Filters and Columns.
5. In the Fields pane, use Quick Find to search for Stage.
6. Drag Stage into the Column on Preview Pane.
7. Click on the Arrow Next to Stage field and select Group by this Field. 
8. Click Run Report. 
9. Click Save as.
10. Enter Report Name.
11. Select Report Folder.
12. Click Save. 

In Lightning: 
 

1. Go to the Reports tab and click on New Report.
2. In the Search Report Types, enter Opportunities and select Opportunities from the list of matches.
3. Click Start Report. You are taken to the Report Builder page to configure your new report.
4. Select your filters by clicking on the “Filters” tab. 
5. Configure your Report columns by clicking "Outline".
6. In the Group Rows search field, enter and click "Stage".
7. Click Run Report. 
8. Save Report.
9. Enter Report Name.
10. Select Report Folder.
11. Click Save.
