How to align text in a Quip document.

Users are now able to align the text in their Quip documents. You can align text to the left, center and right with the text alignment tool.

To format text in a document, place your cursor on (or highlight) a section, and press the Alignment icon from the toolbar. at the top of the document. From the alignment options you can choose the left alignment, center or right.

Additionally, there are three other ways to edit alignment. In the Format menu, you can select Alignment from the dropdown list. In the floating menu option, to the right of the paragraph, there is also a dropdown list with the Alignment option. Lastly, you can use the keyboard shortcut, cmd+shift+J.

If the Alignment icon is disabled in these locations, that means the section cannot be aligned. The following items cannot be aligned in a document:
  • List sections (including bulleted lists, numbered lists, and checklists)
  • Live Apps
  • Embedded spreadsheets and tables
  • Images
  • Videos
