System Requirements and Supported Browsers for Quip

Supported Browsers

Quip supports the two most recent released versions of the following browsers. For the best experience, keep your browser updated:

• Google Chrome
• Safari
• Mozilla Firefox
• Microsoft Edge (Chromium-based)

Note: Using Quip in a mobile browser on iOS is not currently supported. iOS users should use the Quip mobile app instead.

Supported Operating Systems

• Mac: macOS 10.14 (Mojave) or later — access via web browser or the Quip Mac desktop app
• Windows: Windows 7 or later — access via web browser only (the Quip Windows desktop app was retired on June 6, 2024)
• iOS: iOS 13 or later — access via the Quip mobile app (available on the App Store)
• Android: The Quip Android app was retired on June 6, 2024. Android users must access Quip through a supported mobile browser.

Windows and Android App Retirement

As of June 6, 2024, the Quip desktop app for Windows and the Quip mobile app for Android are no longer available. Users on these platforms must access Quip through a supported web browser. If you have the Windows app installed, uninstall it and bookmark https://[yoursite].quip.com for browser-based access.

Uninstalling the Mobile App

To uninstall the Quip iOS app, press and hold the app icon on your iPhone or iPad home screen until the icons begin to jiggle, then tap the remove button. To uninstall on Android, go to your device Settings, find Quip in the Apps list, and select Uninstall.

Example: A company IT team sends a communication to all Windows users reminding them to access Quip through Chrome or Edge in a web browser, and provides a link to bookmark the company's Quip site URL. Users on Mac and iOS continue using the native apps without any changes.
