Quip account settings control your personal profile, security, notification preferences, appearance, and connected integrations. This article explains how to access your account settings and describes what each section controls — useful when you need to update your name or photo, change your password, disconnect a connected app, or adjust how Quip looks and behaves for you personally.
To open your account settings, click your name or profile photo in the bottom left corner of Quip and select Account Settings from the menu.
The Profile section lets you update your display name, language, pronouns. and profile photo. Your display name is visible to all members of your Quip site in documents, chat rooms, and @mentions. Profile photos appear next to your comments, messages, and document edits.
Use this section to change your Quip password. If your site uses SSO, your password is managed by your identity provider and cannot be changed from Quip account settings. For security key registration and MFA settings, see Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for Quip.
Example: A new user sets up their Quip account for the first time and adds a profile photo so their teammates can recognize them in document comments and chat rooms. The new user also changes the default password to a strong unique password before their IT department enables SSO.
Configure how and when Quip notifies you about document activity, @mentions, and messages. Settings are organized by channel (in-app, push notifications, and email) and by event type. You can also configure Slack notification preferences here if your site is connected to Slack.
The Appearance section lets you switch between light and dark mode, adjust the default text size, and configure keyboard shortcut preferences. Changes apply immediately and are saved per account.
This section is used to manage the connection between an individual's Quip account and their connected Salesforce Organizations.
Your Quip email address is used for login and notifications. Changing your email requires a verification step — Quip sends a confirmation email to the new address before the change takes effect. If your site uses domain restrictions, the new email address must match an allowed domain.
