Understand Marker Data and Prioritize Key Records in Salesforce Maps Mobile

This article explains how to view key record data from markers in Salesforce Maps Mobile, and how to use shapes to view aggregated data for groups of markers while planning field visits.

Identify High-Priority Records and View Salesforce Fields

1. Plot a Marker layer in Salesforce Maps Mobile, and review the Marker legend that appears on your screen.
2. You can hide Markers in any categories that are not relevant to you at this time, and tap the Map tab to review the remaining Markers on the Map.
3. Tap a Marker to view the tooltips for that record, or tap View Records to open the full record page in Salesforce Mobile.
4. If you have the appropriate Salesforce Maps Permission, you can edit tooltip field values for this record directly from Salesforce Maps.
5. Tap the edit pencil in the tooltip menu, update the field values as needed, and tap Save to keep the changes and update the record.

Manage Groups of Markers to View Aggregated Data

Use any shape to view aggregated data for markers grouped inside it, so you can plan upcoming calls or visits.

1. Plot a saved shape on the map, or tap and hold the map to access the mobile drawing tool. Tap the points on the map where you would like to draw, then tap Done to complete the shape.
2. Tap the Map tab to return to the map, then tap inside the shape to view aggregate numbers for the markers inside it.
3. Salesforce Maps displays the sum and average values for all number fields added as tooltips in your marker layer.
4. You can also perform mass actions on the markers inside the shape. Tap the three vertical dots in the actions menu and tap the appropriate action to add markers to your Route or Schedule, then begin planning visits in the area.
