Salesforce Mobile App Community License Access Retirement Paused

Salesforce has decided to pause the previously communicated retirement of Community License users using the Salesforce Mobile App. 

To preserve customer business continuity, the current experience will not be retired in the Summer ‘23 release and currently has no planned retirement timeline.

PREVIOUS ANNOUNCEMENT


Starting with the Summer '23 release, Users of the following community subscriptions (“External Community Subscriptions”) will no longer have access to Salesforce platform functionalities through the Salesforce Mobile App for iOS or Android: 
 
  • Company Community License
  • Customer Community
  • Customer Community Plus
  • Customer Portal
  • High-Volume Portal User
  • Lightning External Apps
  • Lightning External Apps Plus
  • Partner Community
  • Partner Portal

External Community Subscriptions purchased on or after the Winter ’22 release do not have access to the Salesforce Mobile App. 

How will this change impact my org? 

This change affects access to and use of the Salesforce Mobile App for iOS and Android by External Community Subscription Users. These Users will no longer be able to access Salesforce platform functionalities through the Salesforce Mobile App after the Summer ‘23 release.

What action do I need to take?

No action is required.  External Community Subscription Users can continue to access their external Experience Cloud sites through a web browser.   

If you wish to provide your external Users with access to Salesforce platform functionalities through the Salesforce Mobile App, you will need to contact your Account Executive to purchase a different platform subscription for these Users.

How do I identify impacted Users?

Administrators can view each User and their associated subscription within the Users panel of Salesforce.
