'Remove from Record' for Files or Attachments Related to Email Message Records or when using email-to-case

Publiceringsdatum: Nov 2, 2022
Beskrivning

To Edit File Details in Lightning Experience users must be the file owner, collaborator, or user with the “Modify All Data” permission.

If your organization has enabled both:

1. Set File Sharing to Inherit Record Settings

  • Users would need at least read and edit access to the file's related records or set as a collaborator in file sharing in order to Remove a File from a Record.

2. Setup Enhanced Email with "Save Email-to-Case Attachments as Salesforce Files" enabled in Configure Email-to-Case settings.

  • By default only the file's owner (the Automated Case User specified in Customize Support Settings) or Admins with "Modify All Data" will be able to see the option to remove a file or attachment related to an email created via Email-to-Case.

The Email Message object's record access is unique with "Special Access Rules" which limit user access to edit or update email records as outlined EmailMessage Documentation. If the file is attached or associated to an email message record, these restrictions prevent end users from being able to remove files related to Emails.

Admins or file owners can Share Files with People in Lightning Experience and set desired end users with Collaborator access to allow removal of files from emails.
