To improve the synchronization between Agentforce Sales or Agentforce Service (formerly Sales Cloud and Service Cloud), and Engagement, you are no longer able to use a formula field as an object filter in Synchronized Data Sources. This change was first announced in the Summer '22 Release Notes. As of the Winter '23 release, newly created Synchronized Data Extensions are not allowed to use a formula field under Configure Synchronization. However, any existing Synchronized Data Sources that utilize a formula field will continue to sync and can still be edited without issue. After the Spring '23 Release, you will no longer be able to edit existing Synchronized Data Sources that use a formula field without first removing the formula field. Any existing filter will continue to work as long as you don’t need to edit the sync configuration. Performing any edits to the sync configuration after the Spring ’23 release removes the formula field filter automatically. If you experience sync issues with the filters using formula fields, you will need to update the filter and remove the formula from the filter.
To resolve this issue, please update your Synchronized Data Source filter to utilize a field that is not a formula field. We recommend making the changes as soon as possible (at least before the Spring ’23 release) so that you avoid unforeseen issues in the future. If you are unsure if you are using a formula field follow the below steps to check your Synchronized Data Sources.
Some users include APEX to populate a Boolean field in Sales to control which records are synced. For example, APEX can populate a field called Marketable for all records where Email Address is NOT empty. You can then use the Boolean filter in Marketing Cloud to import only those records where Marketable equals True. Editing an already synchronized object causes a refresh for that object.
