Marketing Cloud Connect Workflow Migration

Publiseringsdato: Apr 4, 2023
Beskrivelse
To prepare for the Workflow Rules and Process Builder retirement, all workflows created by the Marketing Cloud Connect package will be automatically converted to Flows and the old workflows deactivated.  This process should work automatically and everything should keep working after the new package has been installed.  This will happen in the 2023 April release.

For more information on the Workflow Rules and Process Builder retirement , see Go with the Flow: What’s Happening with Workflow Rules and Process Builder?

Løsning

After the 2023 April release, the Marketing Cloud Connect package will stop using workflows and instead will use Flows.

The process to deactivate the old workflows is automatic. This process will happen when your Marketing Cloud Connect package is upgraded to the Spring '23 version. There is validation in place every time a user clicks on the Marketing Cloud tab within Sales/Service Cloud that will also ensure the workflows are deactivated. If you would like to confirm that they are appropriately deactivated after the upgrade, they are the five workflows listed below.

BackupWorkflow
ScheduledSend
ScheduledSmsSend
BackupSmsWorkflow
BackupTriggeredSendWorkflow

Note: SMS is not a supported functionality within Marketing Cloud Connect. These workflows will not be recreated in Flows.

Follow these steps to disable the workflows:

1) Log into your Sales or Service Cloud org as the Marketing Cloud Connect admin.
2) Navigate to Setup > Workflow Rules
3) Verify the workflows listed above are is set to "Inactive"
4) If Active, click "Deactivate" next to the rule

The new flows are:

MCC_SendFailedAutolaunched
MCC_SendCompleteAutolaunched
MCC_NewSupportRequestAutolaunched
MCC_TrackingAsOfSDAutolaunched
MCC_TrackingAsOfIERAutolaunched
MCC_SendStatusDateTimeAutolaunched
MCC_SendClassFromAutolaunched
MCC_ScheduledSendAutolaunched
MCC_PopulateTrigSendBackupWorkflowAutolaunched
MCC_PopulateBackupWorkflowAutolaunched
MCC_FailBackupWorkflowAutolaunched
MCC_BackupWorkflowAutolaunched
MCC_BackupTriggeredSendWorkflow

How do I determine if I will be impacted?

There are multiple reason why the automated process can fail and it is difficult to predict for which customers will fail.  The recommendation is to validate that the listed flows are deactivated following the instructions above after the ’23 Spring package is deployed in your org.

Failure to deactivate old workflows can result in duplicate sends as the workflow and new flow will both be active.
