Description
This article describes how to verify your Account Model in Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP), and how to update Salesforce Profiles to fix warning that can occur when attempting to convert a Lead when a Profile uses the same Account Record Type as the NPSP Account Model.
Resolution
Introduction
When a Profile has the same Default Account Record Type as Nonprofit Success Pack, a user will receive the following warning:“The Default Account Record Type for your Profile is the same Record Type set as the Account Model in NPSP Settings, which could cause various data issue. We recommend changing the Account Record Type default to a different value for all profiles.”
Resolution
In order to resolve the above warning, you will need to ensure that Profiles within a Salesforce Org using Nonprofit Success Pack do not have the same Default Account Record Type that is set within NPSP Settings.Verify the Account Model Used in NPSP
Ensure to verify which Account Model you are on. This will be handy when determining which Default Record Type to use for the Account Object in Object Settings for the Profiles.
- Navigate to NPSP Settings
- Select People
- Select Account Model
- Take note of which Account Model you are using:
- Household Account
- One-to-One
- Individual
Update Profiles to Use Correct Account Record Type
Now that you know which Account Model you are using, it is time to update the Profiles to ensure that the Default Record Type for Accounts is NOT the Account Model Record Type being used.
In order to do so, follow the directions below:
- Go to Setup
- Go to Users and then select Profiles
- Select the Profile(s) you need to update
- Select Object Settings
- Go to the Account object
- Update the Default Record Type to be different than what is being used for the Account Model in NPSP Settings.
