'ECI App Creation Failed' error received during Einstein Conversation Insights enablement

Users may encounter “App creation failed. Contact Salesforce Customer Support.” when enabling Einstein Conversation Insights. This error can occur for multiple reasons and this article covers one scenario where the Analytics Cloud Integration User Profile does not have Read access to the appropriate fields. The below steps can be followed to see if the resolution will be applicable:
  1. Login to your Salesforce Org
  2. Search for Auto-Installed Apps in the quick find
  3. Click on Requests Tab
  4. Check the Status of the Conversation Intelligence
  5. Click on the Actions drop-down where the status of the request is failed and select ‘View Log’
  6. Scroll to the right until you see “Something went wrong while executing the Sync_xyz node: Field [abc] is not available. Verify that the field exists and that the Analytics Cloud Integration User profile has Read level access on the field. [error category: USER]”
  7. You will see the name of the field which doesn’t have access to the Analytics Cloud Integration User profile.

Example error:

“Something went wrong while executing the Sync_Account node: Field [AnnualRevenue] is not available. Verify that the field exists and that the Analytics Cloud Integration User profile has Read level access on the field. [error category: USER]”

Resolution below is for the example error listed in the description. If the error message is on a different object and field, then adjust the steps below accordingly.
 
  1. Navigate to the Analytics Cloud Integration User profile and select the Field Level Security for Account and grant Read permissions to the ‘AnnualRevenue’ field
  2. In the quick find search for ‘Einstein Conversation Insights’ and select General settings
  3. Disable “Conversation Insights”
  4. Refresh the page and enable “Conversation Insights”
  5. Once you enable some times it will take up to 24-48 hours for processing.
  6. You should see “Ready to Use” once the ECI is successfully enabled.

Note: The name of the node is the object and the field is the name of the field from the error message.
 

If the “App creation failed. Contact Salesforce Customer Support.” error continues to present after following the above steps, follow the same steps from the description and continue to grant the permissions to the particular fields mentioned in the error message by following the resolution section.
