Salesforce Visual Remote Assistance (VRA): How to Delete or Hide Session Images

Fecha de publicación: May 12, 2026
Descripción

In Salesforce Visual Remote Assistance (VRA), session images are screenshots captured automatically during a live remote assistance session between a customer and a support agent. These images appear in the Visual History component — the on-screen log of the session's visual snapshots.
Session images cannot be permanently deleted from within the Salesforce org, either manually or through an automated process such as a Salesforce Flow. This is a platform-level restriction applicable to all VRA implementations.
If specific VRA session images need to be permanently deleted from Salesforce systems, a formal Salesforce Support request is required.

Solución

There are two approaches available, depending on whether you need to hide an image from view or permanently delete it:

Option 1: Hide an Image from the Visual History Component

To remove an image from the Visual History component (without permanent deletion), apply the "irrelevant-image" tag to the image after the session ends.
How to apply the tag:

  1. After the VRA session ends, navigate to the session record.
  2. Locate the image you want to hide in the Visual History component.
  3. Apply the "irrelevant-image" tag to the image.

Once the tag is applied, the image is automatically removed from the Visual History component view. The image can be restored at any time by removing the "irrelevant-image" tag.
Note: This option hides the image from view but does not permanently delete it from Salesforce storage.

Option 2: Permanently Delete Images via Salesforce Support

If permanent deletion from Salesforce systems is required, submit a Salesforce Support request with the following information:

  • The VRA Session ID for the session containing the images to be deleted
  • Details identifying the specific image(s) to be deleted (e.g., timestamp, image description, or sequential position in the session)

Salesforce Support will process the deletion request on the backend.
