The following is a list of frequently asked questions related to MuleSoft Anypoint licensing.

Which would be the best Anypoint license to purchase?
This is a case-by-case basis on what works best for your organization. Work with your Account Executive (AE) and the AE will engage their Solution Engineer (SE) to help determine the best license for you.

How do I obtain a license for a test/dev environment?
Please contact your AE to purchase a license for non-production environments.

How do I troubleshoot invalid entitlements on the license?
Contact MuleSoft support by opening a case at https://help.salesforce.com/s/.  Alternatively, you can also engage your delivery manager or AE.

How do I revoke a license on a used server?
For detailed information on removing a license key, refer to the MuleSoft documentation - Verify or Remove Enterprise Edition License.

How do I troubleshoot the server unable to validate a license key?
Please contact MuleSoft support by opening a case at https://help.salesforce.com/s/. Alternatively, you can also engage your delivery manager or AE.

Is it necessary to install the license.lic file after upgrading to a new Mule runtime version?
If you are upgrading with the Mule Upgrade Tool, then you don't have to reinstall the license but if the upgrade is done manually by installing a new Mule runtime and copying *.yml and *.jks, then the license will not be migrated and you will have to reinstall the license file.

Should I install a license when I am using CloudHub/GovCloud version?
You do not need to install a license key for full CloudHub or GovCloud deployments. License keys are automatically provisioned to the your Anypoint instance.

Can production vcores and pre-production vcores be mixed?
A single license can be used across any environment and you can apply it to production or non-production environments.

How do I get new licenses, renew licenses, and swap licenses?
Please contact your AE for license-related renewals, additions, or swaps.

How are vcores calculated in RTF/CloudHub?
You can engage your delivery manager or AE to understand vCore calculations.

How to download a license file?

How to install a license file?
Refer to the MuleSoft documentation - Install an Enterprise License.

How to check if I am MuleSoft License Compliant?

How to configure a license for DR - Active-Active or Active-Passive?
If you have a Signature Success Plan, please contact your Success Manager and Technical Account Manager. If you do not have a Signature Success Plan, contact your Account Executive.

How do I check what licenses and features are available in my subscription?
If you have a Signature Success Plan, you can contact your Success Manager and Technical Account Manager. If you do not have a Signature Success Plan, please contact your Account Executive.

Should we have an even or odd number of cores?
You can have an even or odd number of RTF workers. Controllers must be odd in number to avoid split-brain situations and maintain a quorum.

How do I obtain MuleSoft PCE License Keys?
If you have a Signature Success Plan, please contact your Success Manager and Technical Account Manager. If you do not have a Signature Success Plan, contact your Account Executive.

How do I install MuleSoft PCE License Keys?
Please contact your MuleSoft Professional Services contact for assistance.
