Salesforce CPQ Refresh Prices button returns 'Maximum view state size limit' error

When clicking on Refresh Prices on a quote in Salesforce CPQ, users may see the following error: 'Maximum view state size limit (170KB) exceeded.' This error occurs due to a Salesforce-wide limit of 170KB for the Visualforce Page view state. The error occurs when a CPQ button calling a managed Visualforce page is clicked. The error is commonly caused in the following scenarios:
  1. A large number of Quote Lines exist.
  2. A large number of custom fields exist on the Quote Line object.
솔루션

To resolve the issue, the following should be considered: 

  1. Reduce the number of Quote Lines.
  2. Reduce the number of custom fields on the Quote, Quote Line, or Quote Line Group object, particularly the ones that are no longer needed.
