Fields are not visible while creating or editing records, even though they are present on the page layout assigned correctly

Users report that fields are missing or different from the page layout when creating or editing a record in lightning.

This is usually the result of utilizing both the Record Detail component and Field Sections (Dynamic Forms) at the same time.

When users create, edit, or clone a record, the fields they see come from the Field Sections on the page, not from the Record Detail. This is considered working as documented. Please see other considerations here.

Løsning

Choose between using the Record Detail component, or Field Sections. This can be done from the lightning record page by completing the following:

 

  • To render fields from the Record Detail component, remove all Field Section components from the page.
  • To render fields from the Field Section components, remove the Record Detail component and ensure the necessary fields are added to the Field Sections.


Note: A difference in field visibility could also be due to Visibility Rules added to the Fields/Field Sections component in the App Builder.
